Graduated in Chemistry from the UCM in 2005, I completed a doctorate in Physical Chemistry, studying the mechanical properties of low-dimensional materials. I obtained my doctorate in 2011 and obtained the extraordinary doctoral award in 2012. I carried out postdoctoral stays in Brazil (UFMG) and Prague (Heyrovsky Inst) for 4 years. There I expanded my studies in synthesis and advanced characterization of graphene and other 2D materials. I joined ICN2 with a Juan de la Cierva Inc. contract, then I obtained a Ramón y Cajal contract and I am currently a CSIC Senior Scientist. At ICN2 I develop neural implants and other biomedical technologies based on graphene. Recently, I have received an ERC Consolidator project with which I will develop a technology to provide neural implants for nerve simulation with energy autonomy.
